Short AF Musical Review | Hamilton

Hey guys, so today I'm going to be doing a review on the musical "Hamilton. As usual this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests) and spoiler free (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie).

"The real life of one of America's foremost founding fathers and first Secretary of the treasury, Alexander Hamilton. Captured live on Broadway from the Richard Rodgers Theater with the original Broadway cast."

Okay so one of my little hobbies is Tiktok and due to that app I have found so many musicals that I have listened to the soundtracks over and over again and really wanted to see so when I saw that Hamilton was coming to disney + I got really excited. You can only somewhat understand what is going on with just the music however when you the musical it makes it all mesh together in perfect harmony to make this beautiful musical. I now cannot listen to "It's quiet uptown" without getting a tear in my eye. This musical was beautifully written and if you love musicals (even if you don't) I would definitely recommend this to you! I can see me watching this over and over again and I hope that Disney keeps on making musicals like this available for those who can't go to see them.

My favourite people in the musical:
- Lafayette: I love the energy in Lafayette and I absolutely adore the character and every scene he is in. It just seems like he lights up the stage the moment he is on it and it made me excited to see him on there and see what he would do next.
- Hercules Mulligan: Once again, something about his energy made me so happy. I love every song he's in and every scene he is in.

My least favourite people in the musical:
- Phillip Hamilton: Phillip was just very arrogant and I can't say much else about him that I dislike without giving anything away.
- Alexander Hamilton: Alexander is definitely where Phillip gets his arrogance from and I don't appreciate the way he treated the people around him.

I loved watching this musical and I hope Disney (or anyone) shows more musicals within their streaming services. Please if you get the chance to, watch Hamilton and make sure you've got some tissues with you.

What did you think of the musical? Who were your favourite and least favourite characters? Do you have any movies, series or books you'd recommend for me to watch/read or want me to do a short AF review on? Please let me know down in the comments below!

Have a wonderful day.

Love, Lyndsay

  1. I saw the play in New York a couple of years ago - not with the original cast, though! I really enjoyed watching it in movie format, because this version had the original cast. It felt somehow more intimate and closer in this format. :)

    1. That must have been so cool! Unfortunately living in England there's not very much we can see here! So I'm really happy it got put on Disney+. Low key hope they put some more on there!
