Short AF Movie Review | Dolittle

Hey guys, so today I'm going to be doing a review on the movie "Dolittle". As usual this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests) and spoiler free (however there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers, however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the series.)

"A physician who can talk to animals embarks on an adventure to find a legendary island with a young apprentice and a crew of strange pets"

So once again this movie is one I wanted to watch due to seeing the trailer in the cinema. I love Robert Downey Jr and I also loved Dr Doolittle with Eddie Murphy in when we were children. I didn't know what to expect of this movie other than he was going to be a doctor who could speak to animals. This movie is definitely much more than that. I loved the adventure that the characters went on and found the acting in the movie amazing. Even though I haven't watched the original Dolittle movie I felt a huge sense of nostalgia whilst watching. Me and James could not take our eyes off the tv whilst watching this. I definitely recommend this movie to everyone, especially if you want a family movie night. The movie is so whimsical and nostalgic that anyone who watches it will love it.

My favourite characters in this movie:

- Poly: I love Poly and her sass so much. She honestly is my favourite character in the whole movie

- Chee - Chee: Look an anxious gorilla is honestly my most favourite thing in the world. Watching him through the whole movie and his character development made me so happy.

My least favourite characters in this movie:

- Dr. John Dolittle: Okay it was hard to find a least favourite character in this movie, but if I had to choose one it would definitely be Dr Dolittle. Hear me out, he's just so, selfish. It doesn't really change throughout the movie either. Don't get me wrong, he gets slightly better but his main character development is just very slow for me. I loved him in all other aspects though!

This movie is so wonderful and whimsical and I definitely recommend watching it!

What did you think of the movie? Who were your favourite and least favourite characters? Do you have any movies, series or books you'd recommend for me to watch/read or want me to do a short AF review on? Please let me know down in the comments below!

As always, have a wonderful day.

Short AF Movie Review | Ready Player One

Hey guys so today I'm going to be doing a short AF movie review on the movie "Ready Player one". As usual, this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests) and spoiler free (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie.)

"When the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune."

So I know last week we got into the book of this, and I spoke about how much I loved the book, so you're probably all thinking "well Lyndsay we know you loved the book obviously you'll love the movie". If you're thinking that, you would be very, very, very wrong.. So, I know a lot of people who have watched this movie have loved it, and I've noticed a lot of the people that have watched it haven't really read the book.. maybe that's where I went wrong? I believe if this was a stand alone movie, then maybe the movie would have been good, but I loved the book so much and it's absolutely nothing like the book (other than the OASIS, which is the only thing that's even somewhat similar). Now don't get me wrong, I know book to movie adaptions are not always the same due to licencing issues (which I can imagine happened a lot in this movie due to the 80's nostalgia within the book.), or just due to them taking something that might seem small in the book out of the movie. But I'm serious when I say, they took everything important out of the book for unnecessary changes in the movie (like no spoilers, but there's a huge death in the book which they completely took out and also how they changed how they meet Ogden Morrow). I loved some of the casting *cough* Simon Pegg *cough*. I hated some of the others. If you enjoy sci fi movies, I would recommend this. However, I really dislike this movie and give it a 4/10.

Have you watched this movie yet? If you did, what did you think of it? Do you have any movies, series or books you'd recommend for me to watch/read or want me to do a short AF review on? Please let me know down in the comments below!

Have a wonderful day,

Short AF Movie Review | Bird Box

Hey guys so today I'm going to be doing a short AF movie review on the movie "Bird Box". As usual this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests) and spoiler free (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie)

"Five years after an ominous unseen presence drives most of society to suicide, a mother and her two children make a desperate bid to reach safety"

So this movie has been advertised everywhere since it was announced that it was going to be put onto netflix, so as you can imagine the hype for this was real. It has some amazing actors in, was a "psychological horror" and just had so much hype around. So I decided to watch it almost the moment it came out on netflix. Boy, this movie was so good. It's not very often that I enjoy horrors because I hate jump scares and I'm not good with scary stuff unless it's books. There wasn't many jump scares in this movie, but, if you're not good with suicide please do not watch this movie because there is quite a bit of it in this movie and it's done in a lot of different ways. If you love psychological horrors/thrillers I would definitely recommend this movie to you. The ending of this movie has had a lot of different reactions but personally I loved it. The only thing to me that was kind of disappointing is that we never got to see what the creatures looked like, however that also made it kind of more scary. (Also the fact that Sandra Bullock couldn't stop laughing when they were supposed to see the creatures probably means it was a good thing that it wasn't shown). Please, if you get the chance too, watch it! You won't be disappointed! I give this movie a 10/10!

Have you watched this movie yet? If you did, what did you think of it? Do you have any movies, series or books you'd recommend for me to watch/read or want me to do a short AF review on? Please let me know down in the comments below!

Short AF Movie Review | Bad Moms

Hey guys so today I'm going to be doing a short AF movie review on the movie "Bad Moms". As usual, this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests), and spoiler free. (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie.)

"When three overworked and under - appreciated moms are pushed beyond their limits, they ditch their conventional responsibilities for a jolt of long overdue freedom, fun and comedic self - indulgence."

So the main reason I wanted to watch this movie is because there are so many actors in this movie that I love (especially Mila Kunis), and it looked like such a funny comedy to get into. Let me tell you, I wasn't disappointed. I loved that the main theme of the story was that they shouldn't put each other down and should join in their womanhood in being "bad moms". Personally, I cannot touch on the mother experience as I don't have kids, and I also don't want kids. This movie was amazing though, it was really feel good and super funny! I love the character development in this movie especially with Amy and Kiki. I love that they were all strong, independent women OR became strong independent women. I'd give this movie a 9 out of 10, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a good comedy movie.

Have you watched this movie yet? If you did, what did you think of it? Do you have any movies, series or books you'd recommend for me to watch/read or want me to do a short AF review on? Please let me know down in the comments below!

Short AF Movie Review | Everything, Everything

Hey guys so today I'm going to be doing a short AF movie review on the movie "Everything, Everything". As usual, this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests), and spoiler free (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie)

"A teenager who's spent her whole life confined to her home falls for the boy next door."

So when the movie came out for this I was so excited to watch it. However, it took me forever to watch it because I wanted to read the book before watching the movie. So I finally got down to reading the book (which I'll probably do a short AF review on one day but today just isn't that day), I loved it so I decided I wanted to watch the movie. I loved it, honestly there wasn't a lot of things missing from the movie that there was from the book (I mean, there were a couple but nothing that would drive me crazy watching the movie). The story between these two progresses so naturally and I could eat up every moment of it. The visuals were stunning in this movie and they brought everything I could see in my own mind whilst reading the book to life. If you're a sucker for romance movies with a twist then you'll love this movie. I give it a 10 out of 10 for sure, and would recommend this to everyone (Unless you don't like romance movies obviously).

Have you watched this movie yet? If you did, what did you think of it? Do you have any movies, series or books you'd recommend for me to watch/read or want me to do a short AF review on? Please let me know down in the comments below!

Short AF Movie Review | To All The Boys I've Loved Before

Hey guys so today I'm going to be doing a short AF movie review on the movie "To All The Boys I've Loved Before". (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie)

"A teenage girl's secret love letters are exposed and wreak havoc on her love life."

So as I said last week when I did a Short AF review on "Sierra Burgess Is A Loser" netflix have been bringing out some fab films lately, and this is one of them! To all the boys I've loved before is a cute rom com based of the book of the same name by Jenny Han. (A book that I've now got on my wishlist to get on payday so I can read it after watching this movie). I loved this movie so much, it was cute, it was funny, it had real, raw emotion. Once again, it reminded me of all the 90's rom coms I used to watch growing up however mixing in today's school life and technology making it more interesting to watch. I definitely recommend this to everyone and anyone you should definitely give it a chance! It definitely has made me want to read the book now though!

Once again, get yourself on netflix and watch this movie, it's pretty awesome and hopefully you'll love it as much as I did.
