Short Af Movie Review | Charlie's Angels (2019)

Hey guys, so today I'm going to be doing a review on the 2019 movie "Charlie's Angels". As usual this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests) and spoiler free (however there will be the iMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they contain spoilers, however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the series.)

"When a young systems engineer blows the whistle on a dangerous technology, Charlie's Angels are called into action, putting their lives on the line to protect us all."

The reasoning for me wanting to see this movie is that I saw the trailer for this in the cinema and thought it looked amazing. I loved the 2000's Charlie's Angels and was excited to see this reboot. This movie is definitely all based around girl power and how strong women can be. I loved the new casting and honestly found myself laughing a lot during this. This movie definitely has a lot of twists and turns and I would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the 2000's Charlie's Angels (hey even if you didn't, try this one, you might enjoy it more!). It's definitely one I have saved to my watchlist on nowtv to watch again.

My favourite characters in the movie:

- Sabina Wilson: Okay so I'm not someone who dislikes Kristen Stewart's acting, her first role for me was in Zathura and I loved her in that and I definitely love her in this. I just love how unapologetic Sabina is and she was honestly my favourite.

- Boz: I can't say too much about Boz without any spoilers I just love how her character was portrayed and keeps you on your toes.

- Langston: Langston is just baby. Enough said.

My least favourite characters in the movie:

- Jonny Smith: I just found him generally annoying throughout the movie but I guess that's how his character is supposed to be written, still, if I had to pick a least favourite it would be him.

I loved this movie a lot and if you have the chance to please watch it!

What did you think of the movie? Who were your favourite and least favourite characters? Do you have any movies, series or books you'd recommend for me to watch/read or want me to do a short AF review on? Please let me know down in the comments below!

As always, have a wonderful day.

The Blogger Tag

Hey guys, so I'm not gonna lie to you, the reason I'm doing the bloggers tag today is because I was supposed to utilise yesterday to write some more short AF reviews and instead ended up finding the owner for a stray dog. So today we'll be doing the blogger tag. I found this on Bournemouth Girl's blog and I thought it would be fun to answer the questions.. So lets jump straight into it.

Do you have any pets, if so what are they and what are they called?

I have a dog called Ozzy, you can find out more about him in the pet tag I did the other week.

What is your favourite social media for blogging?

I really enjoy twitter, I appreciate how much support you can get through it from other bloggers as well as the ability to find more people to share your content with through blogging retweets.

How tall are you?

I am 5ft 5 inches!

Do you have a hidden talent, if so what?

I can do the cup song (but I think after pitch perfect everyone can now).

What is your biggest blog - related pet peeve?

I don't think I have one (yet).

What is your biggest non - blog related pet peeve?

People who are rude or bitchy. I'm too old to deal with it.

What is your favourite way to spend your free time when you are alone?

My favourite way to spend my free time is to play animal crossing or reading.

What is your favourite junk food?

I love a good big mac and some chicken nuggets from Mcdonalds.

If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?

7up free cherry flavour,

What's your favourite movie?

I'd have to say my favourite movie is probably Hocus Pocus (yes I know it's a halloween movie, but I want that spook all year around.)

What were your favourite lessons in school?

Definitely maths and ethics & philosophy.

What blogger do you secretly want to be best friends with?

I don't really know of many bloggers at the moment! So I don't secretly wanna be best friends with anyone!

Who is your biggest inspiration?

My mother and Oma.

What is one of your favourite highstreet shops?

Definitely TK Maxx, they always have the best candles. As for clothes being a plus size woman I don't really shop on the high street as there are not that many options for me.

Are you in education or work?

At this current time I am in neither.

What are your favourite fiction and non - fiction books?

My favourite fiction is Pet Semetary by Stephen King. I don't believe I've actually read on a non fiction book in a while so I couldn't honestly tell you.

Where is one place you would like to visit?

Japan.

Where do you like to write your blog posts?

I write my blog posts on the big cuddle sofa I have in my lounge. I like to be super cosy.

I tag anyone who wants to do this post.

I hope you learned a little bit more about me. What is a cool fact about you? Are you a blogger? Post your links down in the comments below so I can give you a follow!

As always, have a wonderful day.

Short AF Series Review | She - Ra And The Princesses Of Power

Hey guys, so today I'm going to be doing a review on the TV series "She - Ra And The Princesses Of Power". As usual this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests) and spoiler free (however there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. Its just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the series.)

"She - Ra, Princess of Power, leads a rebellion to free her land of Etheria from the monstrous invaders the Horde."

So as most 90's kids I watched the originals of these when I was younger (as they used to rerun a lot of 80's cartoons) so when I saw there was a reboot I obviously thought what everyone else who originally watched thought "they're going to ruin a classic show". Man, I was wrong. I love this series so much and I am devastated that it came to an end (even though it ended perfectly). The art is beautiful in this series and so are all of the characters. I love how inclusive this tv series is and how wonderful the story of all their friendships are. This series is very wholesome and I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

My favourite characters in the series:
- Spinerella: Spinerella is the plus sized babe we need in every tv series. If you know me you know I cosplay and it's nice finding people that look like you to cosplay. I love her relationship with her wife and I just adore her all around.
- Catra: I adore Catra so much, she starts off as the character that you love to hate but her backstory is heartbreaking and I'm so happy how her character development went and where she ended up in the series.
- Bow: Bow is just a wonderful character all around, just watch the series, you'll see what I mean!

My least favourite characters in the series:
- Mermista: Look, I still love her but in certain parts of the series she just gets slightly annoying and has a very edgier than you attitude.
- Shadow weaver: Shadow weaver makes for such a good bad guy in the fact that everything about her makes you wanna hate her.

I adored this series and I wish it never ended but unfortunately all good things must come to an end! If you get a chance to please watch the series!

What did you think of the series? Who were you favourite and least favourite characters? Do you have any movies, series or books you'd recommend for me to watch/read or want me to do a short AF review on? Please let me know down in the comments below!

As always, have a wonderful day.

The Furry Friend Tag | Ozzy

Hey guys so today I thought I'd take part in the furry friends tag as I have yet to introduce you to my beautiful boy! We're just going to jump straight into this one so here are the questions.

1: What is your pet's name?
My pet's name is Ozzy.

2: What kind of pet is it and what breed?
Ozzy is a dog, he's a mongrel. (He is a mix of English Bull Terrier and Rodesian Ridgeback).

3: How long have you had your pet?
We have had him for around 3 years!

4: How did you get your pet?
We rescued him from the RSPCA.

5: How old is your pet?
Ozzy is 10 years old (he is a very old boy)

6: What are some quirky things about your pet's personality?
Ozzy will bark at you when you ignore him, he is not a mean dog he just genuinely wants you to play with him. (He especially does this at the vets when the vet is not paying him any attention)

7: What does your relationship with your pet mean to you?
It means the world to me. Ozzy gets told secrets a lot of people don't. He grounds me when I'm upset. It's sometimes just nice to have a furry friend when you're feeling down. So much love comes from an animal that you wouldn't expect.

8: What are some of your favourite past times with your pet?
Just spending time with him in general. I love when he gets to make new friends because seeing him happy and playful in his old age is the best thing ever.

9: What nicknames do you call your pet?
Ozzy, Oz boy, Oz boz, Oz. Anything that rhymes with his name, we will call him.

Those are all the questions for this tag! Will you be doing this tag? Do you have any pets? If so what type. Please leave you comments down below!

As always, have a wonderful day!

SheIn: Is It Plus Size Friendly?

Hey guys so today we're going to be doing something a little bit different, if you don't know me, hi, I'm Lyndsay, I'm 26 and I am very much plus sized (a size UK 26 to be precise). Due to me being plus sized I sometimes struggle to find plus size clothing at an affordable price and whilst SheIn has been around for a long time, they haven't always catered to plus sized people. SheIn has been around for a while now (I remember it being sheinside back in my Tumblr days) and has always seemed to be a website where you can get affordable cute clothing. One of my friends mentioned to me that they had started doing plus sized clothing so I thought I would try it out. We're going to go through what I've got, how comfortable they are for someone who is plus sized and see if they are true to size! So let's just jump straight into it.

Okay so I love rude things especially this Pajama set. When I saw it in the photos I instantly thought that the T - shirt was gonna be cropped on me and I was correct! The pajama set however is completely breathable and very comfortable! The shorts are elasticated but they fit me perfectly. The highest size this pajama set goes up to is a 26 which is perfect for me and the smallest size it comes in is an 18. Would definitely recommend getting this if you like it!

Okay so getting full sized t shirts sometimes scares me because they don't always cover my stomach (everywhere just seems to think all plus sized/normal sized people have the same torso length and that's just not true). This T shirt fully covers my stomach however and is really comfortable. I love it so much is adorable and I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of this t shirt.

First things first, I would like to point out this skirt fits me perfectly but is not elasticated! This has a zip at the back which sometimes I struggle with so I had to get James to help me zip it up. The Pinafore part of the skirt is a little too big for me and keeps falling down my arms. I love the design of the skirt even having it down but will definitely be sewing another button hole into it so I can wear it securely.

Plus Frill Trim Crop Cami Top
Okay so this top is super cute but really confused me when I got it. Please note that the front is much bigger than the back as it has quite a low back but it also has no tag on the back to tell you which side is the back. Once I figured it out and put it on I loved it. I think this top is super cute and I was really happy I could find something like this in my size. The only downside is I cannot find this top anywhere on their website anymore. I have searched the name, I have gone through all their plus size clothing again and I think they've just took this t shirt off their website.

Once again, this t shirt looked like it would be very cropped on the photo, and once again it was when it arrived. I don't mind it being cropped it's very cute and makes my bi heart very happy. This t shirt looks super cute with blue high waisted jeans (as you can see) but I also have some high waisted skirts this will go with really well. This top also looks smaller in real life but please note it has a lot of stretch so it fits really well on me.

Okay so once again this was not advertised as a crop top but is slightly shorter than normal tees. However this is something I can completely tuck into my high waisted jeans and feel comfortable in. I love how colourful this is and have been looking for something like this to go into my closet for ages. This is made out of a really comfortable material which is not normal for polo tops and doesn't feel restricting or anything (which I find I do feel with normal polo tops)

So do I think SheIn is plus sized friendly? Totally! If you're not over a UK size 26 (which I believe is a US size 22). It's really nice for me to be able to find cute clothes online that either aren't 1: Really expensive or 2: Really outdated. I will definitely be ordering more from them and I encourage you to do so too!

What's your favourite item out of this haul? Have you ordered from SheIn before? Do you have any recommendations for other "Plus sized friendly" stores? Please let me know down in the comments below!

As always have a wonderful day!

Short AF Series Review | The Act

Hey guys, so today I'm going to be doing a review on the TV series "The Act". As usual this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests) and spoiler free (however there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the series"

"Dee Dee Blanchard is overprotective of her daughter, Gypsy, who is trying to escape the toxic relationship she has with her mother. Gypsy's quest for independence opens up a Pandora's box of secrets, which ultimately leads to murder."

So the main reason that I wanted to watch this is due to it being a tv series based on a true crime. I usually love watching true crime shows however I want to point out to whoever watches this that this show has apparently been very much dramatised for the viewers enjoyment. I did still enjoy this series though. It follows the real life story of Gypsy Rose Blanchard and how her life was living with her mother Dee Dee. If you're not into true crime you may not enjoy this series but having not known anything about this case before watching I really enjoyed it. The way it makes you feel is very conflicting and may give you a lot of empathy towards Gypsy's story. I binge watched this within 2 days and due to it being such a short series it is worth binging!

Unlike most of my reviews I will not be including my favourite and least favourite people in this series due to the fact that this is based on real life events which have happened somewhat recently.

If you enjoy true crime I definitely would recommend this to you. If you don't, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it as it contains some scenes which could be distressing to viewers.

What did you think of this series? Do you have any movies, series or books you'd recommend for me to watch/read or want me to do a short AF review on? Please let me know down in the comments before!

Have a wonderful day.

No I didn't get eaten by dragons but I did try to steal one..

Hey guys.

So I guess I should probably explain where I've been for the past almost a year. Well, to put it simply, I stopped having the motivation to post. There are still drafts from last year for movies/TV shows that are now somewhat not relevant. I don't know what happened, I don't know why I didn't come back, I just got myself into a slump.

I am how however back and more motivated than ever. I have a whole load of new movies/books I've watched/read and I'm ready to start writing again. Please be patient with me as it is going to take me a little bit of time to get back into the swing of things.

As for my title, one of the new hobbies I have found myself getting into is d&d, and during my campaign me and my friend are currently trying to steal a dragon. If you'd like to know more about it, please let me know!!

As for now, I am coming back. I'm ready to go and hopefully you should see more posts soon!

(Also quickly, wow thankyou for 100 followers on bloglovin' I can't believe I wasn't around and missed it, but I appreciate every single one of you.)

As always, have a wonderful day!

Why I'm On A Weight Loss Journey

Hey guys, so I guess it's been a long time. There's a multitude of reasons that I haven't been blogging or putting out reviews, but I'm not really gonna give a load of excuses. I've just not been motivated. However, I feel like that is all about to change. You see, your girl who is never motivated found something to be motivated about. I started my journey back in January, I had a new years resolution that this would be the year I would start to lose weight. I started off at 306lbs (that's 21 stone and 9lbs if you're in the UK). 5 months down the line I am currently at 284lbs (that's 20 stone and 3lbs) which works out to me losing around a lb a week.

Now don't get me wrong, I know that doesn't sound like much but I'm not on a fad diet. I'm not stopping myself from eating something if I want to eat it. I'm just making sure that I do not eat more than 2000 calories a day (which is what a woman is supposed to eat in a day, if you're a man I believe it's 2500). I'm weighing my food out and scanning everything into myfitnesspal (not sponsored, ha as if I ever could be, I've just found it the most helpful for scanning food in). I do find myself eating more healthy foods because I get bored of just putting something in the oven. Or if we do happen to get a takeout we will get it on one of my "none diet days" (I allow myself 2 days a week where I don't calorie count, usually the weekend however it doesn't always mean I use them) or we will choose the "healthier option". (An example is if we want to get KFC for example, I will get a rice box because I hate chicken on the bone and those beauties are only 510 calories which will be my whole lunch or dinner when I get them). I'm trying to exercise more however at the minute that just means taking the dogs for a few more walks or walking places rather than getting on the bus to them, I have not yet found a way to workout which either A: isn't spending a lot of money on a gym membership to never use it or B: exhausting myself on the wii fit every night. I'm sure at some point I will work it out.

Don't worry, this blog isn't going to turn into a fitness blog, I will still be doing reviews, I just wanted to let you guys know where I'm at, and maybe put a couple of updates on here when I hit certain milestones. (May even share a cheeky couple of recipes here and there that I've found on pinterest from time to time). For now though, I am motivated and I will keep on going.

And my only question for the end of this blog post is.. What's your favourite "healthy recipe"? Possibly drop me a link in the comments below!

Have a wonderful day.

Short AF Movie Review | Ready Player One

Hey guys so today I'm going to be doing a short AF movie review on the movie "Ready Player one". As usual, this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests) and spoiler free (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie.)

"When the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune."

So I know last week we got into the book of this, and I spoke about how much I loved the book, so you're probably all thinking "well Lyndsay we know you loved the book obviously you'll love the movie". If you're thinking that, you would be very, very, very wrong.. So, I know a lot of people who have watched this movie have loved it, and I've noticed a lot of the people that have watched it haven't really read the book.. maybe that's where I went wrong? I believe if this was a stand alone movie, then maybe the movie would have been good, but I loved the book so much and it's absolutely nothing like the book (other than the OASIS, which is the only thing that's even somewhat similar). Now don't get me wrong, I know book to movie adaptions are not always the same due to licencing issues (which I can imagine happened a lot in this movie due to the 80's nostalgia within the book.), or just due to them taking something that might seem small in the book out of the movie. But I'm serious when I say, they took everything important out of the book for unnecessary changes in the movie (like no spoilers, but there's a huge death in the book which they completely took out and also how they changed how they meet Ogden Morrow). I loved some of the casting *cough* Simon Pegg *cough*. I hated some of the others. If you enjoy sci fi movies, I would recommend this. However, I really dislike this movie and give it a 4/10.

Have you watched this movie yet? If you did, what did you think of it? Do you have any movies, series or books you'd recommend for me to watch/read or want me to do a short AF review on? Please let me know down in the comments below!

Short AF Movie Review | Bird Box

Hey guys so today I'm going to be doing a short AF movie review on the movie "Bird Box". As usual this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests) and spoiler free (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie)

"Five years after an ominous unseen presence drives most of society to suicide, a mother and her two children make a desperate bid to reach safety"

So this movie has been advertised everywhere since it was announced that it was going to be put onto netflix, so as you can imagine the hype for this was real. It has some amazing actors in, was a "psychological horror" and just had so much hype around. So I decided to watch it almost the moment it came out on netflix. Boy, this movie was so good. It's not very often that I enjoy horrors because I hate jump scares and I'm not good with scary stuff unless it's books. There wasn't many jump scares in this movie, but, if you're not good with suicide please do not watch this movie because there is quite a bit of it in this movie and it's done in a lot of different ways. If you love psychological horrors/thrillers I would definitely recommend this movie to you. The ending of this movie has had a lot of different reactions but personally I loved it. The only thing to me that was kind of disappointing is that we never got to see what the creatures looked like, however that also made it kind of more scary. (Also the fact that Sandra Bullock couldn't stop laughing when they were supposed to see the creatures probably means it was a good thing that it wasn't shown). Please, if you get the chance too, watch it! You won't be disappointed! I give this movie a 10/10!

Short AF Movie Review | Bad Moms

Hey guys so today I'm going to be doing a short AF movie review on the movie "Bad Moms". As usual, this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests), and spoiler free. (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie.)

"When three overworked and under - appreciated moms are pushed beyond their limits, they ditch their conventional responsibilities for a jolt of long overdue freedom, fun and comedic self - indulgence."

So the main reason I wanted to watch this movie is because there are so many actors in this movie that I love (especially Mila Kunis), and it looked like such a funny comedy to get into. Let me tell you, I wasn't disappointed. I loved that the main theme of the story was that they shouldn't put each other down and should join in their womanhood in being "bad moms". Personally, I cannot touch on the mother experience as I don't have kids, and I also don't want kids. This movie was amazing though, it was really feel good and super funny! I love the character development in this movie especially with Amy and Kiki. I love that they were all strong, independent women OR became strong independent women. I'd give this movie a 9 out of 10, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a good comedy movie.

Short AF Movie Review | The Boy Downstairs

Hey guys so today I'm going to be doing a short AF movie review on the movie "The Boy Downstirs". As usual, this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests), and spoiler free. (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie)

"A young woman is forced to reflect on her first relationship when she inadvertently moves into her ex - boyfriend's apartment building."

Okay so I promised you I wasn't going to be doing another musical this week and I stuck to this promise. However, I believe this will be the first ever non - positive movie review I've done on this blog. When the trailer for this movie came out, I was really excited for it. I love rom coms especially ones like this. I just didn't like this one. There was a lot of reasons for me to not like this movie. For example: The way it jumps around is so confusing and hard to keep up with and I just found myself getting disinterested (It can be done well, if you want a good movie that does that well watch "The Last Five Years"). Also I hated the ending, so much. It's the type of ending they want you to love but it just didn't work. The character's were really whiny and there was little to no character development. (I'm sorry to the people who may have enjoyed this but this one just wasn't for me)

Short AF Movie Review | Beauty And The Beast (2017)

Hey guys so today I'm going to be doing a short AF movie review on the movie "Beauty And The Beast". As usual, this review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests), and spoiler free. (However there will be the IMDB synopsis in this and sometimes they can contain spoilers however 9/10 times they don't. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on watching the movie)

So once again, this is another musical film (I'm sorry guys I promise my next one is not going to be a musical film but I just love them), and not only is it a musical film, it's a remake of a classic that I grew up with. So to jump straight into this movie I was really worried that it wasn't going to be similar to the original Disney movie. I was also a little bit speculative of Emma playing the role of Belle (Emma is an amazing actress by the way, it's just the fact that it was a singing part and I've never heard her sing. She was perfect for the role in every other way however). Belle was always a princess I could relate to, always had her head stuck in a book and loved stories. So it held a very special place in my heart growing up. This movie was a brilliant remake. I loved seeing the characters I know and love brought to life. My favourite character in this movie would definitely have to be Maurice. He was a lot different than he was from the original movie but also had a lot of the traits we love about him in the original too. I was amazed at some of the songs they added in to the movie and how they performed the old ones as well. Please if you want to watch this movie don't shrug it off just because you're worried it's not going to be the same, because to be honest it isn't, but it's not the same in a good way. It's marvellous.
